Employer groups of between 2 to 5,000 are eligible, whether paid by the employer or by the individuals. Customers of all ages, including seniors, can purchase dental benefits for themselves and their families. Security customers can customize plan benefits and costs to fit their needs.

The company's Competitor Smile Dental Insurance Plan is available to people between 18 and 64 years old, their spouses, and their eligible dependents (unmarried children up to 18 years old, or 23 if full-time students). Coverage is also available for people 65 and older and their spouses. The plan covers basic, preventive, and major dental procedures.

Under the Competitor Smile plan, customers can choose any dentist, receive full benefits for preventive care (including exams, cleanings, and fluoride treatments), and have no waiting period. The plan has a $50 deductible, and total benefits based on the level of plan selected.

Customers with a gold level plan receive a maximum of $1,500 total per calendar year, those with a silver level plan receive a maximum of $1,000 per calendar year, and customers with a bronze level plan receive a maximum of $750 per calendar year. The percentage of a service's cost that is covered increases by year.

For basic services such as X-rays, fillings, extractions and oral surgery, the plan covers 20 percent the first year, 40 percent the second year, and 60 percent the third year. For major services such as crowns, bridges, dentures and root canals, the plan covers 10 percent the first year, 25 percent the second year, and 50 percent the third year.
